I am a damn vampire.

As someone who has mostly been an IT contractor for the past 10 years, with no actual insurance, I'd kind of been putting it off. I was starting to get a little worried that maybe there was something developing I didn't know about - mostly diabetes. So I finally went.
It went pretty well,I am in pretty decent health despite my age/weight/preexisting medical conditions, which I made sure to tell my new doctor all about. There was a blood test. I got the results back yesterday. No diabetes, but my doctor asked me the question, "have you ever had or considered having blood transfusions for your anemia?" That one kind of threw me.
I've been diagnosed with anemia at various points during my life, since early childhood. Fun fact - it's the reason I could not sell my blood for Fake Internet Neo's Oxycodone money during the desperate, awful Matrix Cult situation. But I've always sort of dealt with it? I've always considered it to be something I could pop supplements for, and be just fine, with the occasional "wtf it's summer, why are you wearing a hoodie?" query as a consequence? Transfusions? Whaaaaaat?
I am now taking prescription time-release iron supplements and sub-lingual vitamin B, and seeing how that does.
In other news, I am trying out CBD oil for my fibroid pain (legal in Texas, nyaaaa!) I hope to finally have my surgery sometime this summer.
