Mother's Day, 2021
May. 9th, 2021 07:10 pmThis morning, because we are all vaccinated (House Pfizer represent!) I picked up breakfast and took it to my moms' house, and we basically had brunch over there. Which is a hella great improvement from last year!
We have kind of been through the ringer the past two weeks. My birthday came and went, I took some time off, but the dryer, the refrigerator, and our AC all decided to go on the fritz at the same time. The apartment fixed the fridge, Roommate secured a new dryer off of Craigslist (the old one was a weird off-brand that no one sells the parts for anymore; now we have a close-to-new LG model!) but the maintenance staff all quit before the AC could be fixed. Which...that's a major red flag, actually. How badly is the maintenance staff being treated/underpaid/overworked if they all just quit at once? The manager paid for a third party AC repairman to come fix it, but yeah. That is super concerning.
This place rented to us in a time crunch as we were having to leave the old place, because they kept giving us shit about having a pitbull after taking our deposit and rent money for my roommate to move there in the first damn place. But I'm kind of thinking that maybe this is a temporary layover, and maybe I need to think about even getting into a rental house if possible. Something with a yard for the dogs, so idiots don't need to see them/freak out over their existence.
Anyway, my week off to deal with burnout from work turned into a stress fest, and I'm hoping to be able to take some more time off sometime in the near future.
I'm currently replaying Morrowind, and cycling between that, MXOEMU, and Final Fantasy XV.
