Hello shiny (old) new fandom. Hello full blown mania. At least I'm not insomniac (right now.)

I just really wish I was better at turning this energy into something productive instead of sort of just sitting there and vibrating like 'BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR' in a kind of crystalized way, if that makes sense. All sorts of creative ideas are happening and I write reams of notes, but when I actually try to write I just sort of freeze up.

Work has been chaos due to new procedures but I'm finally adjusting?

But honestly everything feels like it's still going to shit in the world, so the fact that my brain is screaming "FANDOM CHRISTMAS!!!!111" feels selfish, and I'm wondering if this is just my brain doing maladaptive daydreaming and dissociating again.

Everything is still happening so much. I'd love to heck off to somewhere that seems as cozy as the office in this video, with the nice music, except it's Hannibal Lecter's office.

I feel that about my novel. Like, the world is on fire and the majority of my braincells are being devoted to a fantasy version of the world being on fire where it's worse but solutions are possible.

And yeah the world is being shitty right now, and possibly for the foreseeable future, but that makes joy more necessary, to keep our hopes up and keep us in the fight. We can’t always use rage to fuel our activation in the world. Sometimes it has to be the joy of connecting to people we’re helping, or cheerful spite as we buck the system. If your writing is deliberately anti-fascist, if your Hannibal is the dark god who devours the rude and the cruel, why is your writing not considered activism in itself?

I had no spoons to speak of yesterday (possibly because of low iron.) And if I am following the show, really it's going to be Will going stabby stabby on the fascists with Hannibal along for the ride (in the show continuity, Vladis Grutas would have been a Soviet, not a Nazi.)
