HARDCORE.

Being on Twitter right now feels like we're the band playing on the Titanic. Elongated Muskrat has gone from publically firing people trying to tell him how the site works via tweet, to demanding random people tell him how his site works.

Uh...would someone please enforce a labor law and tell this Muskrat to fuck off?

EDIT: OMG WHAT.

BUT:

I'm cautiously intrigued about this.

Twitter is where the bulk of all the fandoms I follow are active; but now that Trump has declared he is running for office again, I think we face a real danger of him being allowed back on.

1. I am not on DW nearly enough and I've been neglecting all my friends here again and I'm sorry.

2. When I deleted my LJ 5+ years ago, I made the statement that we need to be the source of the content we want to see here. Well.

Other people are talking about moving to Mastodon, but there's a real problem in that Twitter is used by many activists, organizations, and even nations to disseminate info and organize. And this may be one reason why Muskrat is tanking it. For example: Twitter may be about to fall out of the GDPR one stop shop.

If indeed he is doing it on purpose. Hanlon's Razor may apply here. He may not just be doing it for Vladdy Daddy (who may have just accidentally attacked Poland.) He may just be that stupid.

I would say "I hope this puts an end to the notion that billionaires are SMRT because they have money, but, well. You know how people are.

In other news, I am reading another Witch Book: The Witch Compass: Working with the Winds in Traditional Witchcraft, by Ian Chambers with a forward by Griffin Ced.

Giving consideration to Mr. Bouzy's proposal.

Careful consideration.

Also considering Mastodon, similarly.

Still not going to abandon my Twitter position just yet, though.

Also, Canadian labour law describes "constructive dismissal" as a real thing.

Mori: since we knew from the start that we could never be on Twitter and would just have to eat those professional costs upfront, this whole thing has been like sitting on a lawn chair in a grassy field with a bucket of popcorn, watching out on the horizon an enormous tornado made of liquid feces, and going, "I hope it never comes any closer to me than this."

And I am fucking bitter that so many events are now organized by Twitter because IT MEANS WE DON'T FIND OUT ABOUT THEM. And now we may not even be able to VIEW them because Twitter goes "nonono, you need an account now."

EDIT: also I ended up making a magic/religion zine and oops now it's becoming a series.

Yup, here's the post I did for it: https://lb-lee.dreamwidth.org/1236732.html and hopefully I'll have #2 out for Christmas.

And yeah, people were organizing before Twitter, they'll find somewhere else to go.

I think Elon's doing it so that he can declare bankruptcy and maybe get some of that money he didn't want to spend back.

You don’t fuck with the coders. If Musk had lived in the real world for even 30 seconds he’d know that.
