I mostly agree? Definitely on the dialogue, which is why I can't read any urban fantasy—it's all just snarky thin women insulting people with quips. And it all definitely holds true for Joss's later stuff.
But there was a lot in Buffy that was actually great—like, the Mayor turning into a giant snake, Buffy having to kill Angel, Hush—that was genuinely inventive storytelling. It's a shame that he died in a horrible accident after the puppet episode of Angel and never wrote anything else.
