2022 is like decompression from 2021 so far.
- 1/6 hit me really hard last year, because I had to work like 50 hours that week and there was no time to process the fucking attempted coup that happened. This year, work didn't require any mandatory overtime. I'm taking a sanity day/personal day off work tomorrow.
I'm glad that it looks like there's going to be some justice for said attempted coup. The wheels of justice turn slowly when they do turn, but sometimes they do turn.
- I think I've finally gotten the dosage and timing of my meds figured out. So, hooray for that. Now if I could just get my sleep schedule under control...
- One thing I really hate about the era of covid is constantly playing the "are these allergy symptoms, dehydration, or covid?" game.
- It's the end of an era: Garland's Hollywood Theater, the last second-run dollar theater in the Dallas area, has closed. I think the last movie I saw there was XxX3: Return of Xander Cage back in 2017.
Oh wow, this happened:

I was teaching remotely last year, and I just remember this horror, and not being able to stop the class in order to watch it all together. The degree to which this was a national and global trauma isn't talked about enough.

Late to respond here: but yeah, mine too.
And yeah, I'm actually surprised it's being discussed as much as it is right now, though that's probably only because of the ongoing proceedings and the media's coverage of the ongoing proceedings. I mean, I'm glad it is being discussed...but the cable media infotainment industry was itself a contributing factor to the incident. Really, the damage that the 24 hour cable news cycle has done to our society cannot be overstated.
