I have a dilemma.

So, I just signed back up for Wordpress hosting. Then I found out about neocities.org just last Wednesday.

Geez, this is everything I wanted since actual Geocities was canceled as a webhosting service. I've already done this:

Now I'm not sure if I want to cancel my Wordpress, or use this free site as a hub, or IDK.

ETA: I know I had a hosting service up until August of this year. It was a paid service and there was baggage associated with it which encouraged me to let it lapse. It was originally created to serve a purpose, it served that purpose, and then it really ceased to be relevant since about 2012; but I felt obligated to keep it going way longer than I probably should have. Now I can really do what I want with this new account, without the associated baggage.

Anyway, thanks flowerfuck, BTW! I found out about Neocities from your Dreamwidth.

ETA2, 3/15/20: I went ahead and canceled my wordpress and routed the cyberarcadia domain to my neocities site. As I mentioned before, I already *have* a paid blog service right here, with image hosting and everything.

Oh yeah, armaina told us about Neocities! And love what you've done with yours, it's so good to see a website that isn't... I dunno, whatever that "full-screen image with tiny bit of text, transition to more," thing is that I see a lot right now.

Thanks! I think that trend in site design is supposed to make them more mobile friendly. Sites with huge, screen ungulfing images are really more for smaller touchscreens. I'll whip up a mobile page in css for mine probably this weekend.

Yeah, fair enough. I know my site looks pretty garbage on mobile, and I haven't quite figured out how to fix that yet. :x
