Last weekend’s SNAFU.
So here’s what happened.
– I got the idea to migrate my 15 and 1/2 years worth of of LiveJournal and DreamWidth entries to my new WordPress here. By now I had most of my old theme and plugins reinstalled on my WordPress, including the one that crossposts to DreamWidth.
– I can find a plugin to migrate LJ, but not DW. But by now I know enough PHP to be dangerous! I edit the API to point to Dreamwidth. Everything appears to be working! But –
– It starts migrating stuff back to Dreamwidth, because I left that plugin enabled. Then WordPress sees the 15 and 1/2 years of entries and is like “you want me to what?” And falls over. Which in this case is a good thing.
I am not sure I need stuff from my RP journals from 15+ years ago copied here, frankly. Just the last five years of posts or so. I am currently trying to figure out a way to do that. It’s probably going to end up being a bunch of xml uploads over next weekend or something.
That’s all for now.
