Vagueblogging. [Edited to be even more vague, sorry.]
Sometimes I feel like biggest lesson of the past 14 years is that I have not learned a single goddamn thing.
The ironic thing is that the weather is nicer than it has been in months. Weeks and weeks of 100+ degree Fahrenheit, and today it's 75. I need to go out and walk around in it before it's 110 again. Seriously, when I woke up, it was cool and rainy and I didn't want to do anything but drink pumpkin spice coffee and write fanfic. The first day of fake Fall. Yay, fake Fall!
Instead, today happened. And I feel like I really didn't learn a single lesson from 14 years ago - That when someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time. When you think you see red flags, you are probably seeing red flags.
I'll be ok. This is not my first rodeo.
I'm going to echo something I saw somewhere else on the intarwebz today: I really hope September is kinder to everyone. I am so sick of bullshit, both in my life and on the world's stage.
It's T minus four days till Matrix Time. I'll be seeing in in the same theater I sneaked a baguette and brie into to eat while watching Matrix Revolutions back in 2003 (like any proper Merovingian faction member would.) I might do the same thing again, or pack a tiny antipasto platter in some Tupperware, or one of those Lunchables For Grown Adults with the salami and crostini and artisan cheese in it or something.
The theaters where I saw The Matrix and Matrix Reloaded no longer exist, which makes me sad. Well, that's not exactly true. The one where I saw the original Matrix film, where I was working at the time in 1999, was bought out by a Studio Movie Grill; but it is overpriced and its location is inconvenient.
Just remember, when sneaking outside food into the theater, one is operating on Burning Man rules: if you pack it in, pack it out. Theater employees can get in trouble if outside food trash is found left in the theater.
