Post move post.

Things are getting settled. However there are issues stemming from the previous residents having utterly trashed the place - so much so that the standard new paint/new carpet make-ready just isn't cutting it, and we have already had to submit several work orders.

I kinda wish we had the money to pay the fee to get out of my lease and go back to the apartments I had lived in previously, but we didn't. Plus, that place also wanted the entire first month's rent up front at the time of application, which we also didn't have. But my room is already more put together at two weeks than it was for the first six months I lived at my old place. (I moved late September 2017, and there was a point during unpacking where I said "fuck it" and didn't unpack the last two or so boxes until May or June 2018.)

I really hope we are able to get the issues resolved soon. Roommate can see where nail polish or something was spilled on the baseboards in their room, and it was just painted over without being primed - meaning it is still visible. Their bathroom has water damaged tiles and nothing has been caulked correctly.

My bathroom has several problems, including water damage on nearly all the things, plumbing issues which included a leak under the sink which was supposed to have been fixed Tuesday and wasn't really fixed until yesterday, a toilet which overflowed the first night, nothing has been caulked correctly, a shower which is badly in need of re-grouting, and smells as though it was where the previous tenants kept their cats' litter box.

The bar top in the living room was busted before we moved in, and the fix which was used is the jankiest I have seen; I'll have to post pics later to demonstrate. Roommate actually used to do make-ready in apartments, and pointed it and a bunch of other stuff out to me.

Our maintenance guys seem pretty cool, so I don't know what happened here, except I think it was just so wrecked and the process of switching apartments was so rushed - they were still working on it the morning of the 1st, and the office wouldn't even give me the keys until the afternoon. We were supposed to move in mid-February, and they pushed it back to the first of March, so it must have been really bad. My previous apt was ok. IDK.

Anyway, I want to thank @flamingsword and everyone else for helping out so much. Thanks for being awesome!

That sounds like.... a lot. I hope they get everything fixed soon.
