numb3r_5ev3n: Captioned by me in the GIMP. (Wait. What?)
I was up playing D&D until 2 in the AM. Why am I up doing laundry at this hour?

Oh well. I just found someone's Massive Attack playlist on Youtube, so it's all good.

Still taking mall photographs. Starting to notice certain similarities in architecture, setup, lighting. Oh, and a lot of it is going up on my flickr account.

I realize that I haven't responded to any recent posts/messages in what could be called a coherent fashion. These past two weeks have been killer. I am trying to take the time to sit down and actually converse with people over the internet, but my attention span is all over the place to the point that I'll sit down and get sucked into something else, and forget why I got online in the first place.

Also, I realize that I have been rolodexing fandoms likewhoa since oh, early last summer. As a result, some scattershot progress has been made at some of my existing fics, but not nearly enough of anything to post. I realize I haven't updated anything since late last spring. Around July-August I was exibiting what many close to me believed to be bona-fide manic behavior, and nothing was getting done because I couldn't focus long enough on any one thing to actually complete any single task at any one time.

Here is how it works:

1. Get online to talk with someone/read up on something about something they've sent me a message about.

- See fic related to a fandom I've invested time in
- Realize that it's been months since I posted anything on a particular fic.
- Look for a jumping-back-in point on that fic
- See something that reminds me of another fandom/hear song on radio that reminds me of another fandom
- realize it's been months since I updated fic on that fandom. Start work on that fic.
- remember I have bills to pay
- forget what I was originally doing in the first place
- lather, rinse, repeat.

I promise I am not blowing any of you off. I am just having a seriously hard time focusing. The old, "q: How many people with Attention Deficit Disorder does it take to screw in a light bulb?

a: Wanna Ride Bikes?
joke really hits close to home here.

Basically, this is an open apology to just about anyone who can see this.

I have known for a while now that I probably need to be on meds for adult ADHD - but judging from my history, I am afraid to get back on any sort of medication at all due to possible side effects.

My job and my gliders are doing okay. I'm in a bi-monthly+ D&D game. Other than that...well, somehow I screwed up GRUB on one of my machines.

1. Put a disc in the drive
2. Put super grub disk on that disc
3. Put that disc in the drive of the nonworking computer
And that's the way you do it.

Also, I recently saw Deathly Hallows I.

Scabior is hot.

Why is Scabior hot?

I fixed up a lot of my photos on my deviantart account. I seriously need to either get my camera fixed, or get a new camera. I'm definitely going digital if I do the latter.

I also need to take some long-overdue apartment/glider-related picspam - but mostly I need to start snapping things around the Dallas area. I wanted to see if I could get some shots of the Dallas Skyline from the top floor of what used to be the Adam's Mark Hotel the last time I was up there. It would be an awesome view if the pictures actually came out.

I realized it's been over a year since I've had internet access at home. Although it's really aggravating to get it from alternate sources (generally Panera, Starbucks, Dennys, or the Flying Saucer) I actually think it's helped me a lot in some ways. There was a time when I spent just about all of my waking hours online. Seriously, from around 1996 to 2005, it's like I only ever got offline for school, breaks, and snacks. I tell people that I don't have access at home, and they look at me like I'm some sort of Luddite. Truth to be told, I'm kind of afraid of falling back into the old habit of staying online at work all day, and then coming right back home to log in. I'm not exactly sure that's healthy.

Well, it's been a week of ups and downs. I still have the Cold That Will Not Die. Apparently it's going around. The last time I had one of these (last Spring) I got a shitload of writing done. However, it's just too nice out to barricade myself in my apartment like I did the last time. I really do need to work on my fic, though. I might get some running-around done, and then try to work on my Watchmen and Hellraiser fics in tandem.

According to the news feeds, WB and Faux are close to a settlement regarding the Watchmen film. It's about time, and Faux had better see reason (or at least dollar signs) or else I won't be spending another red cent on anything they produce ever again. Just sayin'.

I have nearly assembled my steampunk outfit for the upcoming Steampunk Night at Panoptikon. I've decided to go with devil-may-care airship mechanic as my persona. I'll take pics when it's done. I got some awesome goggles dirt-cheaply off of Amazon.com, but I need to do things to them to make them look more steampunk.

That's all for now!

It's still hard for me to accept that Cessna is gone, but I am doing okay otherwise.

I saw the Cruxshadows quite unexpectedly last night, and they kicked loads of ass. I liked what I'd heard of them before, but now I'm a bona fide fan.

Here's the extended Watchmen Trailer from Spike TV's Scream 2008, which aired this past Tuesday:

Voted early for Obama/Biden.

That's pretty much it for now.

ETA: New embed-link for the above trailer. Youtube keeps snorching them down, fans keep putting them up. MARCH ON TILL MARCH, /CO/MRADES!

Also...I'm going to see Tranformers first thing tomorrow. Hells Yeah.
