Oh mannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn. Dude. This post is just... yeah. I don't have the spoons to articulate a proper response but you hit the nail on the head about the pre-9/11 years and what happened in the first few years post-9/11.
