I finally get ADHD meds yay~

Well my shrink has finally decided that I do indeed need ADHD meds, to which I can only say YAY, FINALLY.

Though the OCD has been the squeakier wheel at a lot of points, looking back I have to say that the ADHD has had more of an adverse effect on my life (mostly in the form of executive dysfunction.)

Every ADHD person I know who has been on them has been like "IS THIS WHAT IT'S LIKE TO TRULY BE ABLE TO FUNCTION?" and yet ADHD patients who ask for them outright are treated like they're engaging in drug-seeking behavior.

Like I had to go through a whole year of "let's give the antidepressents enough time to see if they work" before I could ADHD meds finally. Like I am sure that my doctor is following some sort of prime directive but yay finally, this is a big deal.

In other news, "Into The Narrowdark" by Tad Williams dropped, and it's the best one in his most recent series so far.

Now to see how soon I can get the Monkey Pox Vaccine.

yay meds! I hope they're effective.

I loved Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn back in the day, but it has been literal decades. Can you just pick up the new ones with a vague memory of what the world was?

I want to get the monkeypox vaccine but they're really just restricting it to men who have sex with other men here. Which is some bullshit as it's airborne and will tear through the schools in a few weeks.

HUZZAH!! Yay for meds, and I, too, hope they are everything you need them to be after the brief adjustment phase.

I will have to get back into Tad Williams soon if he's going to keep doing apparently-good stuff. I wonder if I can but the cover art from the old series anywhere ... OOH!

Congrats on getting the meds! I hope they're as good to you as they have been to me. I think I avoided that difficulty mostly by virtue of already having been on stuff for OCD/anxiety for a while before seeing the ADHD diagnosis.
