The Maxx was not on Liquid TV, but was part of the Saturday night animation programming block that included Liquid TV and other shows, after after Beavis and Butthead spun off from Liquid TV and was a huge hit. I can't remember if MTV showing Speed Racer was concurrent with this, or if it was what actually started it off. But it was like Adult Swim before Adult Swim. In fact, I wonder if this is where Cartoon Network execs got the idea to try edgy new things?
