Title: TRON: INVASION
Author: [livejournal.com profile] numb3r_5ev3n
Rating: T for now, may or may not progress to M eventually.
Synopsis: TRON/Blade Runner Fanfic. It's 2021, the Tyrell Corporation attempts a hostile takeover of Encom, and the Grid is caught in the crossfire.
Disclaimer: Neither Disney nor Ridley Scott are half as scary as the Tyrell Corporation; nevertheless, neither TRON nor Blade Runner belong to me.

AUTHOR'S NOTE: As with most of my fics, this was inspired by a dream I had; in this case, one that occurred the night after my second viewing of TRON: Legacy. It's technically a crossover with Blade Runner; some of the characters in the dream were characters from my Blade Runner fic, which is still WIP (a little of it can be seen over on my LJ.) The two storylines got all caught up together to the point where I really couldn't extricate them.

So anyway, here we go. )

My arm is returning to normal after having pulled a muscle in my shoulder very badly the other day. Yay.

I saw Lupin III: Castle of Cagliostro at a friend's house the other day. I'd seen some Lupin episodes and the OVA The Fuma Conspiracy, as well the endlessly looped intro to The Mystery of Mamo (at a table at a con when I was 14 - which was somewhat disturbingly scarring, to the point that the intro to Sayonara Zetsubou-Sensei intro almost gave me a flashback the first time I saw it.) But this was, I admit, the first time I'd seen Castle Cagliostro. I think I'm going to have to go rent/netflix/buy them all now.

I'm archiving my Watchmen fic at the Pit now, as well as [livejournal.com profile] flowerofsin's site. I'm still cleaning it up and revising it, as well as working on new chapters. Fifteen years after my first writing class in high school, I think I'm finally beginning to grasp the concept of "Show, don't tell."

I'm also working on a new/expanded fanmix now that I have a paid account with mediafire.

Have a Jon-style Comedian flashback sequence, LOL.

The Comedian is floating in the K-Hole, surrounded by images of his past. )

...Is it wrong that I look at him and think, "YAY ~HAGRID!~"

Oh shit, he's going to hunt me down and kill me now, isn't he? D:

Anyway, here's another reason for him to do so...

Looking back, Laurie figured she should have known it was a set-up. )

Also this. )

In the end, it's all a joke. )

...Though with a lot more Watchmen than Multiverse this time.

They made one stop before heading for the penthouse of one Edward Blake )

OK, More Watchmen/Moorcock-x-over fic. )

This was actually inspired by a very dark Comedian/Rorschach fic over on plus4chan /pco/ in which the word "noncon" is a horrific understatement. D: I couldn't let that stand, and this scenario popped into my head full-fledged as a result.

BTW I post as Edward Cullen over on plus4chan.

Cut for dark, adult themes, angst, and bad language. )

ME: So I saw the film Red Eye and now I want to write fanfiction for it.

ME: Seeing it also made me want to see The Assassination Bureau again.

[livejournal.com profile] ozonelayercake: You could totally write a crossover. Or how about Red Eye fanfiction written in a Steampunk setting?

ME: Wait, what? Oh wow...I could see that happening.

ME: WAIT....

ME: OH GOD IT'S IN MY HEAD AND I CAN'T UNSEE IT.

ME: YOU HAVE OFFICIALLY BROKEN MY BRAIN.

ME: THIS CANNOT BE, FOR LO, *I* AM THE BREAKER OF BRAINS AROUND THESE HERE PARTS! :O

[livejournal.com profile] ozonelayercake: XD

ME: (to him) LEVEL CLEARED!~

........

Oh well. Looks like I'm going to have *two* epically huge fanfiction projects in the works now. (This and my Hellraiser fic.)

Anyone else interested in booking a Zeppelin flight from Dallas to Miami? >:D

My question is whether Rachel McAdams's character would kick more or less ass in a Steampunk setting. XD (EDIT: I'M GOING WITH KICKING MORE ASS FOR 400, PLZ.)

Wes Craven sure does like putting ass-kicking heroines in his films. EXAMPLE: Nancy Thompson ala The Nightmare on Elm St? WHO THE FUCK NEEDS MCGUYVER?

As luck would have it, the weekly "free-for-all" subject in [livejournal.com profile] lazytown was crack-ficcery/manips

I'm still working on manips, but I have finally decided to reveal the details of Stephanie's true parentage! (according to my own LazyTown/Multiverse-fan-crack-fiction-crossover-work-in-progress, anyway.) XD Scans (crappily) taken directly from the Michael Moorcock's Multiverse Graphic Novel.
cut for hugeness. )

OK, things are kind of nuts with my job right now. The webhosting company/data center I work for had a very much-needed shakeup within upper and middle management. Things may or may not change for the better. I may or may not be getting a sideways promotion (i.e. a promotion with the same pay) to another department (which I am starting to hope goes through more and more every day.)

School is hard to balance with work. I guess it all depends on the classes...when I was doing twelve credit hours of History and Government (four classes) at once, it was easy. But six hours (two classes) of Math and Speech are considerably harder. Yes, SPEECH. The Speech professor is well aware that a lot of folks try to take Speech as an easy credit/blowoff class, and is quite deliberately vindictive about that fact. She's also the Dean of Communications at my school, and has dropped several hints that we all ought to change our majors to Communications. Needless to say, I have more homework in this class than almost any other class I've ever taken. (Hey [livejournal.com profile] rishgrrl, remember Professor Will? This lady's almost as bad.) THE MATH CLASS IS EASIER. OMFG.

I have no social life. All of my friends have different schedules than I do. When I started working weekends back in November, it completely ruined what little offline social life I had left. I don't do anything except go to school and go to work. When I was going to TWU, it was different...yeah I was swamped, but I had time for other things. Not anymore. Or maybe I just had more "other things" to have time for.

I'm starting to go crazy. ("STARTING?!" LOL....)

I am currently writing a fanfiction saga (the LazyTown/Multiverse crossover) that probably no one will read. I'm still writing it, though. I'm going to finish this, dammit.

On the bright side, I've lost two more pounds. I guess LazyTown fandom is good for something. XD

But it's a work in progress.

[livejournal.com profile] 1bingbang1's "Heroes of Fallujah" YTMND site (now re-created, yay!) and the acompanying song by Apoptygma Berzerk inspired this. :) I began a Moorcock's Multiverse/LazyTown crossover ficlet up on his comments page (and hilariously enough, other YTMNDers picked up the thread) on a lark, but the idea just won't leave my system.

Basically, the I got to wondering...how can kids keep their innocence and optimism in the world as it is nowdays, what with everything going to hell in a handbasket as it is? Or do they perhaps have a better handle on things than even grownups do sometimes? We're all waiting for a hero to save the world, but what about the ordinary heroes all around us who just make everyday life more bearable? The heroes who inspire kids to respect themselves and each other, so that maybe the world will be a better place when they inherit it from us?

Anyway, here we go.

Wow, I haven't done this in awhile.

Inspiration struck while I was running errands yesterday.

It's Harry Potterfic...specifically, Snapefic...of the Snape-is-still-a-good-guy variety. No 'ships, even implied (other than canon.) Except that it's also one of the Mega-Multiverse-Crossover-Cast-Of-Thousands type fics that I used to attempt in my earlier fanfic-writin' days. (When I used to do the "OMG what if Alucard from Hellsing teamed up with Buckaroo Banzai, The Ghostbusters, Mulder and Scully and the Lone Gunmen from the X-Files, and they squared off against Iscariot, The Cigarette-Smoking Man, the Oiliens, and Hanoi Xan?")

In the words of the Merovingian, "We will see where this goes."

No.

numb3r_5ev3n: Jerry Cornelius (Does Elric have to slay a bitch?)
You know why?

Because my muses have just informed me that it's time to work on the Elric story that has been on the back burner in my head for a year or so. The crossover Elric story. What I'm crossing it over with is a surprise. ;)

I have a habit of mentally casting actors as characters in my fics. I still don't know exactly who should play Elric, but (very ironically) I can actually see Jonathan Pryce in the role. But he's already taken as another character in this story (HINT. And no, it's not Pirates of the FUCKING Caribbean.) But I am totally seeing Cillian Murphy in the role of Arioch/Lord Jagged. OH HELL YES.

BLOOD AND SOULS FOR MY LORD ARIOCH.I mean, I'll post the first few chapters as I complete them.

EDIT: *links Wiki article to mention of Elric, above. ROTFL at metal bands in article.*

But this was a thought that occurred to me during the long drive to Scarborough Faire this weekend...how about a fanfiction crossover between Sin City and Under the Cherry Moon?

*Dodges thrown objects* It could work! >_> Except that all of my attempts at UTCM fic have either been haunted or horribly jinxed in the past. Maybe the Universe is trying to tell me something. ;) Or maybe it was just stalling me until the right thing to X it over with came along. Funny thing though, I was reading the Sin City comic The Long Goodbye just around the time I saw this film (I think the same year, at least.) I don't know why the idea didn't occur to me then.

For those of you who haven't seen UTCM, it is often described as "surrealistic" which is really an understatement. I would say that it posesses a Lovecraftian mind-warping quality, but some of us consider that a GOOD thing.

I think my best idea was to have the character of Christopher Tracy wind up in half-life as a construct not too unlike the Dixie Flatline in the book Neuromancer. Because you know, computers and the internets existed in the south of France in 1945. ^_^ ;P

EDIT: Oh, I forgot...the original fic that I wrote in 1990 with my Mom's typewriter also featured youkai as well as ninjas. =^_^=

Remember, all of this made PERFECT SENSE when I was 14.

One mistake that I made with the fic when I was fourteen that I may or may not be making now...do ninjas really belong in THIS KIND OF STORY, IN the South of France in 1945? ;) (14-YEAR-OLD ME: "I'll MAKE them fit!") Oh Well. Miho's anough ninja for anybody, I guess.
